Each offer opens at the live spot price for that metal times the exact weight and purity of what you have. Hallmarked bullion from major mints earns the tightest spread because authenticity is never in doubt.
Larger lots do better than single small pieces, and platinum and palladium are quoted against their own markets, which move independently of gold and silver.
